Brothers remanded over alleged assault on police officer

An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Monday, ordered the remand of two brothers at the Agodi Correctional facility for allegedly assaulting a police officer on duty
The defendants are Kabiru Jimoh, 20; and Ahmed Jimoh, 25.
The duo who reside in the Alakia Isebo area of Ibadan were charged with five counts bordering on conspiracy, obstruction of duty, threat to life and assault.
They pleaded guilty to the charges.
Following their plea, the chief magistrate, Olabisi Ogunkanmi, ordered their remand at the correctional centre and adjourned the case until June 10 for a review of facts.
The prosecutor, Olapeju Durodola, alleged that the defendants conspired to obstruct a police officer, one Helen Ojo who was on lawful duty to recover a child over paternity issues
She alleged that the defendants assaulted the complainant by beating her up and threatened her life with a broken bottle.
The prosecutor alleged that this made the complainant sustain injuries.
The offences contravene the provisions of sections 197, 252, 351, 356 (2) and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State 2000.
