Buhari’s former aide Bashir Ahmad hails Hamas leader Sinwar assassinated by Israel

Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has showered praises on Yahya Sinwar, leader of Hamas, assassinated by Israeli soldiers on Wednesday.
Mr Sinwar was designated a terrorist by the European Union. In January 2024, the European Union declared Mr Sinwar a wanted terrorist for masterminding the October 7 attacks on Israel that left over 1,000 people dead.
Posting a photo of Mr Sinwar on X on Thursday, Mr Ahmad said the Hamas warlord was “born, lived and died a leader.”

Mr Ahmad’s comment on X came after the news that Israel confirmed Thursday its soldiers killed Mr Sinwar in Gaza.
The Hamas warlord assumed leadership of the Palestinian militant group in August following the assassination of former leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed in a firefight between Israeli soldiers and Hamas forces.
In 2021, Peoples Gazette exposed one of Mr Buhari’s then-minister, Isa Pantami, as an apologist of Al-Qaeda.
