Buhari’s remains arrive Katsina from London for burial

The remains of the former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away in a London clinic, on Sunday at 82, has arrived in Katsina for burial at his hometown, Daura.
The aircraft carrying Buhari’s body, accompanied by the Vice-President Kashim Shettima and the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, touched the ground by 1:50p.m. at Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport, Katsina.
On arrival at the airport, the body was received by President Bola Tinubu, Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, ministers, governors, captains of industries, National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, presidential aides and members of the Katsina State Executive Council.
Others are the former President of Niger, Mahamadou Issoufou, Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau, Speaker, House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, service chiefs, former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Tukur Buratai and others.
The Federal Government declared Tuesday (today) a public holiday in honour of the late president, who passed away on Sunday in London, United Kingdom.
The holiday comes as part of the ongoing seven-day national mourning period earlier announced by President Tinubu to pay tribute to the late Buhari’s life and legacy.
