Champions Liverpool open EPL campaign as 2025/26 season kicks off at Anfield

Champions Liverpool face Bournemouth in the season’s opening match as league organisers release the matchday schedules for the upcoming season.

Manchester United will open their 2025/26 Premier League campaign against Arsenal at Old Trafford while defending champions Liverpool are up against Bournemouth in the season’s opening match, as league organisers release matchday schedules for the upcoming season.

The Premier League announced on Wednesday that the new season of the English top-flight league will commence on August 15, 2025, with Liverpool starting their title defence quest against Bournemouth at Anfield Stadium. 

On August 16, Manchester City will open their campaign on the road against Wolves. Brighton is up against Fulham, Aston Villa face Newcastle United, while Nottingham Forest tackle Brentford.

On the same day, newly-promoted Sunderland welcome West Ham at the Stadium of Light, with Tottenham travelling to Burnley to face another newcomers.

Meanwhile, Chelsea play host to Crystal Palace in their first game of the season on August 17. Manchester United will tackle Arsenal in the biggest matchday one fixture of the upcoming season on the same day.

On August 18, the match between last season’s English Championship winners, Leeds United and Everton, at Elland Road will conclude the opening matchday of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.
