Chimaroke Nnamani: APC nominates PDP senator to presidential campaign council

Chimaroke Nnamani, a serving senator of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been appointed a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) for the 2023 general election.
APC through the PCC Secretary, James Faleke released a list of 422 members for the council ahead of the official stipulated date by INEC for the commencement of campaign for the forthcoming 2023 election.
Surprisingly, Mr Chimaroke, who was elected to office as the federal lawmaker representing Enugu East Senatorial district under the PDP, and a chieftain of the party, was listed as the number 350th member on the APC campaign council’s list.
His inclusion may be linked to the fact that the senator has been an avid supporter of the APC presidential candidate in the forthcoming election, Bola Tinubu, and the former Enugu State Governor has not shied away from expressing this support for Mr Tinubu.
Mr Nnamani has praised Mr Tinubu on several occasions, even calling him the “the hardest working Politico of this generation”.
A request from Peoples Gazette seeking comment from Mr Tinubu’s presidential campaign team had not been responded to as of the time of filing this report.
Campaigns by political parties for the 2023 Presidential and National Assembly election is expected to officially commence next week Wednesday, September 28.
