Chocolate City accuses Odumodublvck of assault at Rhythm Unplugged

Chocolate City Music has accused rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, aka Odumodublvck, of physically assaulting one of its staff members at the backstage area of the Rhythm Unplugged concert in Lagos on Monday.
In a statement shared on its official Instagram page on Monday, the label alleged that the incident is the latest escalation in a long-running dispute involving Odumodublvck and Chocolate City artist Emeka Akumafule, aka Blaqbonez, one of Nigeria’s most prominent rappers.
According to the statement, a Chocolate City staff member, Mr Feyi Ajayi, was backstage with another artist when Odumodublvck allegedly approached him, made threatening remarks about Chocolate City and its leadership, and headbutted him without provocation.
Chocolate City said multiple eyewitnesses reported that when a bodyguard attempted to intervene, Odumodublvck and his associates poured drinks on Mr Ajayi while shouting expletives directed at the label and its executives.
The label said Mr Ajayi was hospitalised and is currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the alleged assault. It added that while he is responding to treatment, the attack required urgent medical attention.
Chocolate City described the incident as part of what it called a sustained pattern of harassment, threats, and physical confrontations connected to the fallout between Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez.
In its statement, the label listed several alleged incidents dating back to December 2024, including a reported altercation at Landmark Beach, confrontations in Uyo and at a fashion show in England in 2025, and repeated online harassment directed at Blaqbonez, his manager Ms Morin Oluwatobi, and Chocolate City executive Mr Osagie Onobun.
The label also alleged that Odumodublvck sent more than 100 threatening messages to Blaqbonez and other members of the organisation, some of which, it said, extended to family members and industry colleagues.
“Rap beefs are part of hip-hop culture. Physical violence, stalking, spitting on women, threats with weapons, and intimidation are not,” Chocolate City said.
The company said it has escalated the matter to the relevant authorities and will pursue all available legal means to ensure the safety of its staff, artists, and executives.
Chocolate City also urged event organisers and stakeholders in the music industry to strengthen security measures and take a firmer stance against violence at live events.
Odumodublvck’s team could not be immediately reached for comments.
The public feud between Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck began in June 2025 when Blaqbonez released a diss track titled Who’s Really Rapping, which Odumodublvck saw as a direct attack, resulting in a heated exchange online between the two.
