Court remands Lagosian, 20, for stealing

On Thursday, the police in Lagos arraigned Martins Kelinho, a 20-year-old man, before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for stealing items worth N420,500.
Mr Kelinho is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, housebreaking, and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Clement Okuiomose, told the court that the defendant committed the offences with others still at large on April 15 at 8 p.m. at Gemede Ajido, Ebute Olofin area of Badagry.
Mr Okuiomose said that the defendant broke into the house of the victim, Omomimi Kolawole, and stole the items, all valued at N420,500.
He said the defendant was caught by some neighbours who handed him over to the police.
The chief magistrate, Daniel Aina, granted the defendant bail of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum.
Mr Aina, thereafter, adjourned the case until May 21 for mention.
