Court remands two Kaduna men for stealing motorcycle

A Magistrates’ Court in Kafanchan, Kaduna, has ordered remanding two men, Abubakar Ibrahim and Shamsu Ladan, in prison custody.
The presiding judge, Michael Bawa, ordered their remand after they pleaded guilty to stealing a motorcycle.
The judge also reserved sentencing for March 20 following their plea for leniency.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps charged the duo with criminal conspiracy, conspiracy trespass and theft.
The NSCDC prosecutor, Marcus Audu, told the court that the complainant, Inuwa Dahiru, reported the matter at the corps’ office in Kafanchan on February 27.
Mr Audu explained that the defendants entered the complainant’s house at Katsina Street on February 26 at about 2:00 a.m. and stole his Hyojeu motorcycle.
He said the accused persons were arrested and confessed to the crime during the investigation.
According to him, the offences contravene sections 59, 327 and 270 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law.
