Court remands two over alleged theft of phone valued at N175,000
A Magistrates’ Court in Ile-Ife, Osun State, on Thursday remanded two men, Godwin Ogoyin, and Abeeb Azeez, in a correctional centre over alleged theft of a phone valued at N175,000.
Ogoyin, 35, and Azeez, 21 are charged with stealing and conspiracy.
The Prosecutor, Asp Emmanuel Abdullahi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on July 12 at No 1, Cocoa Store, at the Olurin Are of Ile-Ife.
Mr Abdullahi said that the defendants stole a Galaxy A05 phone, valued at N175,000 belonging to the complainant, Adereti Ojo.
He said that the offence contravened Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
Magistrate Abosede Sarumi ordered the defendants to be remanded at a correctional facility in Ile-Ife, and adjourned the case until December 2.
