Cultists are on the rampage at the Rivers State University (RSU).

One person has been confirmed dead.

Meanwhile, the police said they had apprehended a suspect as of the time of filing this report.

Last December, at least two persons were feared killed in the state following an attack by suspected cultists. The cultists attacked a beer joint in Luubara and shot at revellers.

The police confirmed that 35-year-old Bariya Timothy, described as a notorious gang leader, was killed.

A witness told local media that two men died on the spot, and two women who sustained serious injuries have been taken to the hospital by police officers attached to Bori.

Rivers has witnessed multiple shootings linked to armed gangs operating in various parts of the state, including Port Harcourt.
