Cultists attacked, killed mourners at burial ceremony in Anambra: Police

The police assured that an investigation is ongoing to arrest the perpetrators.

Suspected cultists on Thursday invaded a burial ceremony and attacked mourners in Ogidi in Idemili North Local Government Area in Anambra.

The police command in a post on X, on Friday, said the assailants allegedly killed four people and injured 15 others.

The command said, “In the late hours on 11th September 2025, Anambra Police swiftly restored calm in Ogidi after suspected cultists attacked a burial ceremony, leaving 4 dead & 15 injured.”

The command, however, assured that an investigation is ongoing to arrest the perpetrators.
