Davido to headline FIFA World Cup 2026 countdown concert in Los Angeles

Afrobeats superstar Davido is billed to headline the FIFA World Cup 2026 countdown concert in Los Angeles.
He joins Diplo’s Major Lazer in performing at the June 10 countdown concert as part of FIFA’s synchronised music event in Los Angeles, Toronto and Mexico City to hype the 2026 World Cup.
He’s also featured on the official FIFA album “No Place Like Home,” dropping June 5 with four Nigerian artists, including Ayra Star and collaborations like Shakira with Burna Boy.
The Nigerian singer took to his social media page on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, where he shared a photo and details about the event.
He wrote, “New music this Friday!! ‘No Place Like Home’ with @MAJORLAZER @NellyFurtado @FIFAWorldCup”.
Some fans excited about the development took to social media to react.
They wrote: @Pretty_airnb said, “I can’t wait for this.”
@Fasterrdaddy commented, “FIFA World Cup know he will always deliver.”
Another user on X, @Abazwhyllzz, said, “The greatest musician in the world, back to back World Cup appearance.”
Also, @Lifeofolaa stated, “Davido x FIFA WC 2026.”
‘OBO’, as the singer is fondly called by his fans and industry peers, was born on Nov 21, 1992, in Atlanta, U.S. He began his professional music career in 2011. He started working on his debut studio album ‘Omo Baba Olowo’, a mixture of Afrobeats and hip hop.
He made his music debut as a member of the group KB International, and rose to fame after releasing “Dami Duro”, the second single from ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ in 2012.
