Despite being complicit in Lekki massacre, LCC demanding toll collection: Falz

“Do you know what these animals are busy doing? Announcing that they want to be president…want to start collecting tollgate money.”

Nigerian rapper and rights activist Folarin Falana, aka Falz, has described the Lekki Concession Company (LCC) announcement that it will resume collection of toll fees at the Lekki tollgate as “madness.”

The LCC, despite having been indicted in the massacre of hundreds of #EndSARS protesters in 2020, announced earlier that it would resume toll collection at designated sites after a long halt orchestrated by the protests. This action, according to Mr Falana, is unacceptable.

“Soldiers committed gruesome murders on innocent Nigerians on the night of October 20, 2020. The reports of the judicial panel set up by the government indicted the LCC,” said Mr Falana. “Despite being complicit in these gory crimes, LCC is brave enough to announce toll collection. What kind of madness?”

The musician also lamented the train bombing that killed several Nigerians, including a medical doctor.

He berated the government and politicians.

“Do you know what these animals are busy doing? Announcing that they want to be president, organising political rallies, announcing that they want to start collecting tollgate money,” he tweeted.

Criticisms of President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime continue to dominate social media following the multiple train attacks within 24 hours and widespread insecurity that has become unbearably worse under his watch.
