Easter: CP deploys special squads to Lagos hot spots
The commissioner of police in Lagos, Abiodun Alabi, has ordered increased surveillance of “strategic and vulnerable points” in the metropolis to ensure adequate security during Easter festivities.
This was disclosed by Benjamin Hindeyin, spokesman for the Lagos police command, on Friday in a press statement.
“In line with his policing vision, CP Alabi has directed all area commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), tactical commanders and intelligence officers to deploy adequate human and operational resources to all strategic and vulnerable points across the state to forestall any form of breach of security.
“Deployed officers have been charged to be professional, courteous but firm in the discharge of their duties.
“The CP, therefore, gives assurances that the emplaced security architecture would be closely monitored and reviewed as required in a bid to sustain the existing peace in Lagos State,” Mr Hundeyin said via the statement.
The police commissioner, while wishing Lagosians a happy Easter celebrations, equally enjoined everyone to be security conscious, vigilant and report any untoward incident to the nearest police station, Mr Hindeyin stated.
