EFCC operatives break into hotel room, assault woman

Some operatives of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) were captured in video breaking into a hotel room and assaulting a lady.
The video recorded by a Closed-Circuit Camera (CCTV) emerged on the internet on Thursday. The event was said to have happened in the Regional Hotel, Ojo, Lagos.
The anti-graft agency operatives were seen forcefully breaking into the hotel room, damaging the door. One of them then slapped the hotel occupant before shoving her on the bed.
Responding to public criticisms of its officials’ conduct, the chairman of the anti-graft agency, Ola Olukoyede, condemned their actions and ordered their arrest.
“The executive chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr Ola Olukoyede, has ordered the arrest of two officers of the commission allegedly involved in the manhandling of a female staff of Regional Hotel, Ojo, Lagos,” a statement by EFCC’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, on Thursday reads.
It added, “The officers were sighted in a viral video assaulting the staff of the hotel in an early morning sting operation in Lagos. The operation yielded a sizable number of suspects who are still being profiled.”
