Eid-el-Fitr: Bago tasks security agencies to ensure peaceful celebrations

Governor Muhammad Bago of Niger has called on security agencies to ensure adequate security across the state for a hitch-free Eid-el Fitr celebration.
Bago made the call while addressing thousands of Muslim Ummah that gathered for Eid-el Fitr prayers after the two rakaats prayers at the Minna Central Eid prayer ground on Sunday.
Represented by his deputy, Yakubu Garba, the governor said security agencies should not give room to any form of unrest in any part of the state, especially in Minna, the state capital.
He urged them to do their best to ensure an uninterrupted celebration for the good of all.
Mr Bago advised the youths in the state to be law abiding and not use the period of celebration to cause havoc.
He called on wealthy individuals to assist the less privileged.
He thanked the traditional rulers, elders and stakeholders in the state for their advice and prayers, and pledged continuous collaboration with them in the administration of the state.
Speaking, the special adviser to the governor on political matters and strategy, Mohammed Kolo, thanked Niger people for their support to the Bago-led administration and urged them not to relent.
He said that the state government would continue to do more in line with its quest and vision of achieving a new Niger agenda.
In his Khutba (sermon), the Chief Imam of Minna Central Mosque, Malam Jibril Imam, who performed the Eid prayer, congratulated Muslims for being alive to witness the occasion.
He urged them to sustain and put into practice what they have learnt during the Ramadan fast.
Among those that performed the prayer were the former governor of Niger, Muazu Aliyu, the Emir of Minna, Umar Bahago, and members of the state executive council.
