Eid-el-Fitr: FRSC deploys 1,100 officials, 16 patrol vehicles in Ondo

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ondo State Command, has deployed 1,100 officials and 16 patrol vehicles to ensure free roads and highways during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations in the state.
The FRSC State Sector Commander, Dr Samuel Ibitoye, made the disclosure while speaking on Wednesday in Akure.
Mr Ibitoye, who said 500 regular and 600 special marshals were deployed, warned that the celebrations should not be thrown into any sorrowful situation.
He said the command also deployed ambulances to cover corridors prone to crashes.
According to the sector commander, the officials will be on patrol 24 hours during the celebration, so road users can call 122 toll free number for prompt response and rescue.
“Two trucks will be activated to remove obstructions from the roads so that such obstructions do not cause crashes for those travelling during the celebration.
“Our personnel will manage traffic effectively for Muslim faithful at various prayer grounds across the state, especially in the state capital and major towns.
“Our aim is for the public to feel our presence and know that we care, while ensuring that traffic does not create problems during the celebrations,” he said.
Mr Ibitoye called on road users to be patient and accommodate the error of others to avoid anything which could lead to accidents.
“Motorists should avoid road rage, excessive speed and overloading. When things are done moderately, people will arrive safely and enjoy their celebrations,” he said
The sector commander also charged the officials to be diligent in their duties and committed to service delivery, adding that their responsibilities were to preserves lives and earn public trust.
