Eid-el-Fitr: NSCDC deploys 3,400 officials in Kano

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has deployed over 3,400 personnel across the state to ensure adequate security before, during and after the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The state Commandant, Mohammed Hassan-Agalama, disclosed this in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi on Tuesday in Kano.
Mr Hassan-Agalama said the deployment was part of proactive measures to safeguard critical national assets and infrastructure, as well as ensure peaceful and hitch-free festivities across the state.
He explained that operatives had been strategically stationed at Eid praying grounds, recreational centres, markets, motor parks and other vulnerable public locations to prevent any security breach.
The commandant added that special attention would be given to critical infrastructure including power installations, water facilities, and telecommunication masts.
According to him, intelligence and surveillance units have been strengthened, while rapid response teams have been placed on high alert to respond promptly to emergencies.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to work in synergy with other security agencies to maintain law and order throughout the festive period.
Mr Hassan-Agalama urged residents to remain vigilant, cooperate with security operatives and report any suspicious movement or activity to the nearest security agency.
He also advised parents and guardians to caution their wards against engaging in unlawful acts.
The commandant reassured residents of Kano State of the corps’ commitment to ensure the safety of lives and property, urging all to celebrate responsibly and peacefully.
