Ekiti LG boss urges youths to celebrate Xmas in moderation

The chairman of Ikole Local Government Area in Ekiti, Bayo Omojola, on Thursday urged youths to celebrate the Yuletide season peacefully.
Mr Omojola gave the advice in an interview with journalists in Ikole-Ekiti.
The chairman, who described Christmas as a season of love and celebration of God’s faithfulness, advised youths to drink responsibly and avoid reckless driving and late-night parties.
He said, “We are already in the Yuletide season and it is a period of love; we must extend hands of care to the less privileged people around us. I want to appeal to all our youths to stay away from dangerous alcoholic wines, late-night parties and reckless driving. We don’t want any bloodshed or loss of lives during the Christmas and New Year celebration; that is why I am urging the youths to celebrate moderately.’’
Mr Omojola urged residents to be security conscious and report suspicious movement of strange persons to the nearest police stations.
The chairman prayed that God would continually protect both young and old people in the community from any bad incident during the yuletide.
