Ekiti to diversify economy by focusing on arts, culture: Commissioner

The Ekiti commissioner for art and culture, Ojo Bakare, has said that the government would diversify its economy by harnessing the abundant potential of the creative arts and cultural resources.

Addressing a news conference on Monday in Ado-Ekiti, Mr Bakare said that states needed to be innovative by unveiling bold initiatives to foster creativity and economic growth.

The commissioner said that consequently, Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti had approved immediate implementation of economic development of the creative arts and talent promotion

“An endowment fund programme has also been launched to enhance the skills of emerging talents in the creative arts sector.

Mr Bakare explained that the groundbreaking initiative was aimed at nurturing talents, promoting cultural heritage, and stimulating economic development in Ekiti.
