El Clasico: Barcelona humiliate Real Madrid
Real Madrid on Sunday night suffered a humiliating defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu, losing 0-4 to Barcelona in the El-Clasico encounter.
Barcelona, who were first defeated 3-2 by Madrid at Camp Nou in the reverse fixture, came out for a brutal revenge on Sunday night, humiliating the Los Blancos on their turf.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave Barcelona the lead, scoring for the visitors with a header in the 29th minute.
Madrid were still struggling for an equaliser when Ronald Araujo doubled Barcelona’s lead in the 38th minute, heading home a cross from Dembele.
With Barcelona leading by two goals into the first half break, the second half was expected to be explosive as Real Madrid played hard to stage a come back like they did against PSG in the Championship League.
However, Barcelona returned into the second half smoking, doing more damage at Santiago Bernabeu as Ferran Forres made it three for the visitors barely two minutes into the second half.
Aubameyang sealed Barcelona’s victory with another goal in the 51st minute, chipping the ball over Courtois, leaving Real Madrid with a tall mountain to surmount.
Real Madrid are still first on La Liga log with 66 points in 29 games. Sevilla is second with 57 points in 29 games, while Barcelona are third with 54 points in 28 games.
