Emir of Ilorin seeks more support for Kwara flood victims

The Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has urged the Kwara State Government to support families affected by the flooding at Bode Saadu in the state’s Moro Local Government Area of the state.
Mr Sulu-Gambari, in a statement on Friday in Ilorin by his Press Secretary, Abdulazeez Arowona, described the situation as unfortunate.
Recall that a downpour on Wednesday caused a lot of damage in the area, submerging some houses.
The emir sympathised with the victims over the loss of property and dislodgement from their respective homes.
“I received news of the incident with worries and discomfort. My heart and prayers are with you at this crucial period,” he said.
Mr Sulu-Gambari, who is also the Chairman of Kwara Traditional Rulers Council, thanked the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his prompt response and visit to the scene of the disaster.
He, however, appealed for adequate support for the affected families, saying that many of them lost their homes and property.
Mr Sulu-Gambari, therefore, urged religious leaders in the Ilorin Emirate and beyond to be more prayerful to God for maximum protection against calamities and disasters in Kwara and Nigeria at large.
