President Bola Tinubu has vowed to seek re-election despite rising insecurity across the country.

Mr Tinubu noted that the situation was a ploy by his enemies to frustrate him from seeking a second term in office.

He spoke on Tuesday while receiving a delegation from Plateau State led by Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

He urged the delegation to return home and work towards restoring peace.

“You are playing to the hands of agents, including my own enemies, who want to use insecurity to get rid of me,” the president said.

Mr Tinubu added that he remained determined to seek re-election.

“I’m a very stubborn politician. I just refuse to go. And I will campaign for my second term. I will work hard,” he said.

Meanwhile, chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Finance, James Faleke, had collected the president’s nomination form.

In recent times, there have been killings and abductions especially in Kwara, Benue, Borno and Plateau states among others.

At least 29 people were killed recently in Guyaku village in Adamawa State and 27 others in Aguwan Rukuba area of Plateau State.
