EPL: Inevitable Haaland nets again as Man City pound Southampton to continue unbeaten run

Manchester City continued their unbeaten run in the Premier League this season after defeating Southampton 4-0 to move top of the table on Saturday afternoon.
Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo made the starting line up for The Saints match against sensational Erling Haaland and his Manchester City side.
Southampton have lost their last three Premier League games while City destroyed Manchester United 6-3 in their last game of the league.
In the 20th minute of the game, City made their mark when João Cancelo scored from an assist from Philip Foden to put them into the lead.
Coming off his hat-trick against United in the last match, Foden doubled City’s lead thanks to an assist from Kevin De Bruyne. It was his 95th assist in the Premier League, taking him to fifth position on the all-time assist chart.
Despite several attempts afterwards, City were unable to score another goal as the first half ended 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium.
Man City continued from where it was left when Riyad Mahrez scored the hosts third goal in the match just four minutes into the second half.
Moments later, Haaland scored again for the seventh consecutive league matches to make it four for City. It was Haaland’s 15 Premier League goals in nine appearances this season.
The hosts were unsuccessful in their attempts to score more goals. Haaland’s goal sealed the victory for City to maintain their incredible record in the league.
City have now won eight out of their nine league matches this season, with the only points loss coming in the draw against Newcastle United, to maintain an unbeaten run in the ongoing campaign.
