EPL: Manchester City labour to 3-3 draw against Newcastle
English Premier League champions Manchester City came from behind to draw Newcastle 3-3 on Sunday.
City fell behind Newcastle in the first half at St James’ Park but fought their way to pull a draw.
The visitors took the lead five minutes courtesy of İlkay Gündoğan’s goal. But the home side levelled up as Miguel Almirón fired in a equaliser in the 28th minute.
Callum Wilson put Newcastle ahead, scoring in the 39th minute, while Trippier’s screamer, a superb free-kick, buried into left top corner of City’s net increased Newcastle lead margin.
City went into first half break behind Newcastle with two goals, but returned into the second half to cancel them out.
While consistently dominating the game, Erling Haaland pulled one for City in the 60th minute, restoring hope of possible comeback back.
Four minutes later, Bernardo Silva levelled up of City, helping them pull a draw and escape first defeat this season.
With seven points in three games, City are now second behind Arsenal on the EPL log.
