Big Brother Naija “Lockdown” housemate, Neo Akpofure, has threatened legal action against a woman, Arikan Udoka, who publicly accused him of rape on social media.

Ms Udoka, who operates the X handle “the violently wicked (@notralia),” alleged in a series of posts on Tuesday that Mr Akpofure raped her while they were both at the University of Calabar (UNICAL).

“@NeoAkpofure is also a rapist. he raped me in Unical, he should come out and deny it. We were casual sex buddies with the clause that he wasn’t in a relationship. I found out he was and went to his apartment to confront him. so he raped me,” she wrote.

She further claimed she could recall statements he allegedly made during the encounter.

“I can still remember what he said, ‘didn’t you enjoy it?’ ‘is that not why you came here?’ a bastard through and through,” she said.

Her allegation emerged as social media users began discussing rape claims raised by TikToker @mirab351, who alleged she was raped in her apartment by a random individual. The allegation has raised diverse discussions on social media.

In response to a user who warned that Mr Akpofure could sue her for the allegation, Ms Udoka replied: “sue? no. make we go shrine swear, make who dey lie kpai.”

In a letter dated February 18, 2026, Mr Akpofure’s legal representatives, E.L. Akpofure, SAN & Co., described the allegation as “entirely false, malicious and defamatory.”

The firm, in the letter addressed to Ms Udoka and signed on behalf of its Warri-based chambers, stated that it was acting on the “succinct and unequivocal instructions” of its client.

According to the letter, the publication “accused our client of rape an extremely grave criminal offence,” and portrayed him “as a sexual offender and a criminal, thereby subjecting him to public odium, reputational injury, emotional distress, and severe personal and professional damage.”

The lawyers argued that the post, made on a global social media platform, constitutes actionable libel under Nigerian law and exposes Ms Udoka to “significant civil liability and potential criminal sanctions.”

They demanded that within 48 hours of receiving the letter, she should delete the posts from X and any other platform where they may have been shared and issue a “clear, public retraction.”

They also demanded that she should publish an apology on her X profile, and provide a written undertaking not to make further defamatory statements about Mr Akpofure.

The firm warned that failure to comply with the demands would result in the initiation of “all appropriate legal proceedings,” including a civil action for defamation and other remedies available under Nigerian law.

Ms Udoka has yet to comment over the matter hours after the pre-litigation letter became public.
