FBI raids fraudsters’ hideout in Ghana, arrests suspected scammers

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has raided a fraudsters’ hideout in Ghana and made arrests.

The FBI boss, Kash Patel, said the anti-graft agency’s raid in Ghana, codenamed “operation blackout” was carried out on Thursday.

“OPERATION BLACKOUT: this FBI’s global scam center fraud demolition,” Mr Patel said on X. “Another takedown this week out of Ghana.”

Posting photos of alleged fraudsters arrested during the raid, Mr Patel highlighted some of the achievements recorded during the operation.

Mr Patel stated, “Nearly $10 million in identified losses so far, 89 victims identified, 130+ individuals arrested or detained (including victims who will be repatriated to home country) and over 300 devices seized.”

“Investigation is ongoing. These scam compounds target American citizens and destroy lives – and this @FBI is crushing them in every corner of the world. More to come.”
