Five dead, many injured as gas station explodes in Delta

At least five people are feared killed, while many others, including children are badly burnt or injured in a Friday gas station explosion at Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Several account on social media narrated the sad incident while videos of some of the victims also appeared on the timelines.
A few of the victims rushed to the Agbor General hospital were not immediately attended to, due to the absence of doctors and health workers, sources say.
Peoples Gazette could not immediately confirm the cause of the explosion.
Explosions arising from gas plants built closed to residential areas are becoming commonplace in Nigeria.
The dangerous trend contravenes the law but marketers often find ways to circumscribe regulatory guidelines in connivance with corrupt enforcement agencies, the Gazette learnt.
The Delta gas explosion comes three days after a tanker exploded in Abeokuta, killing at least one person.
The Gazette reported that the tanker driver was on a high speed, descending from a flyover before the sudden disaster.
