Five killed, three wounded as gunmen attack Plateau communities
Gunmen on Monday killed five persons and wounded three in communities of Iregwe chiefdom of Bassa local government area of Plateau.
On Tuesday, Davidson Malison, a spokesperson for Iregwe Development Association, said the attack was immediately reported to the police and military.
Mr Malison stated that the assailants struck in the night killed and wounded residents. They also destroyed a vehicle and stole motorcycles.
When contacted, the police spokesperson in the state, Ubah Ogaba, confirmed that the residents lodged a complaint about the attack.
Mr Ogaba assured that the police would issue a statement regarding the attack.
Ishaku Takwa, a spokesperson for Operation Safe Haven in Plateau and environs, said, “I don’t have the details.’’
