The chairman of Kursi Investment Limited, Abdulfatai Seriki, has empowered residents of Kwara State with free sewing machines, cars and solar systems in Ilorin.

The empowerment, held under the Yahaya Seriki Empowerment and Enterprise Colloquium 2026, took place on Friday at Arca Santa Arena, Ilorin.

The programme, themed “Beyond Empowerment: Building Enterprises, Creating Wealth, Transforming Lives,” attracted beneficiaries from across the 16 local government Areas of the state, including youth groups, women associations and artisans.

The foundation said the initiative was aimed at moving beyond handouts to creating sustainable enterprises for Kwarans, particularly women and young people.

The Senator representing Kwara Central, Saliu Mustapha, commended Mr Seriki for empowering young Nigerians.

“This is certainly not his first intervention of this magnitude, and I sincerely hope and pray that it will not be his last.” he said

“For me, this is particularly heartwarming because it reflects a philosophy of service that I have consistently believed in and practised over the years, first through the Saliu Mustapha Foundation and now under the auspices of my office as the Senator representing the Kwara Central Senatorial District,” he added.

Recall that in 2023, the foundation empowered over 1,800 Kwarans with over N250 million worth of support covering business grants, tools and skills training.

The Yahaya Seriki Foundation stated that application for the programme was done through its official portal, and selection was based on need and readiness to start or grow an enterprise.
