Four die in Abia automobile crash
The police command in Abia has confirmed the death of three in a road crash after a Mac truck lost control and destroyed military barricades and a stationary bus.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the command’s spokesman, Maureen Chinaka, said the crash occurred on Wednesday when the truck descended a slope along the Port Harcourt-Enugu Expressway.
According to the statement, two of the passengers died, and five others were injured at the scene of the crash, but one of the injured victims was said to have later died in the hospital while receiving treatment.
The injured victims were taken to Christ the King Hospital at Ngodo Isiochi.
She stated that while the corpses have been deposited at the mortuary, the admitted patients have been treated and discharged.
