#FreeNnamdiKanu: Sowore released from Kuje prison after four days in detention

Omoyele Sowore, activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters newspaper, has been released from Kuje Prison, where he was remanded for four days for organising the #FreeNnamdiKanu protests.
Mr Sowore announced his release in a post on social media on Monday, berating President Bola Tinubu and the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
“Leaving Kuje Prison in Abuja after being detained there illegally for four days by @officialABAT illegal IGP, Kayode Egbetokun,” Mr Sowore said. “#FreeNnamdiKanuNow.”
Last Thursday, police arrested Mr Sowore at the Federal High Court in Abuja, three days after he led the #FreeNnamdiKanu protest that shut down the country’s capital.
Mr Sowore was arrested a few days after he led protests demanding the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
During the protests, Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, and Emmanuel Kanu were also arrested and remanded in Kuje Prison.
