The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) corps marshal, Shehu Mohammed, has commiserated with Governor Bala Mohammed over the death of Ahmad Jalam, the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs.

He expressed his condolences in a statement issued by FRSC spokesman Olusegun Ogungbemide on Sunday.

Mr Jalam died in a car crash on Saturday.

The FRSC boss expressed sadness over the incident, describing it as unfortunate. He vowed to intensify the ‘Safer Road’ campaign to avert such incidents.

He said, “The unfortunate incident was another sad reminder of the need for us at the FRSC to increase the tempo of our campaign on the nation’s highways, which the Corps is committed to doing.”

Mr Mohammed prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and urged the Governor and people of Bauchi to have the fortitude to bear the great and irreparable loss.

“We therefore pray Allah’s forgiveness for his shortcomings while on the earth and for him to be granted Aljanah Firdaus,” he added.

He reiterated the FRSC’s commitment to dealing with the menace of road traffic crashes in collaboration with relevant stakeholders at various levels.
