NAF destroys terrorist enclaves, kill several fighters in Borno airstrike

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has said its air component destroyed terrorist enclaves and killed several fighters during an airstrike at Yaganari in the Gezuwa area of Borno State.
This was disclosed in a statement on Saturday by the NAF’s spokesman, Ehimen Ejodame, who said the operation was carried out on Friday, July 10, 2026.
He said, “Acting on credible intelligence on renewed terrorist activities and the concentration of fighters in the area, the Air Component conducted intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions which confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs.”
Mr Ejodame said the targets were subsequently engaged in a series of precision strikes, leading to the destruction of the structures and logistics hubs, as well as the neutralisation of several terrorists.
He added that the operation underscored the growing pressure on terrorists, whose freedom of movement and ability to regroup continued to be severely degraded by sustained air offensives.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, commended the officers involved for their professionalism and reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s resolve to sustain relentless offensive operations against threats to national security.
“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge,” said Mr Aneke.
He added that the NAF remained committed to ensuring that terrorists have no hiding place and no opportunity to recover their capabilities.
