The Federal Road Safety Corps in Kano has decorated 261 newly promoted personnel with new ranks across the 44 local government areas.

The sector commander of the corps, Idris Lawal, who spoke during the decoration on Thursday in Kano, said they were among those who succeeded in the last promotion examination of the corps.

Mr Lawal said the promotion covered officers and marshals across different cadres, including five senior officers promoted from chief route commander to assistant corps commander.

“Out of the 261 personnel, 196 were also promoted from road marshal assistant to chief inspector.

“The promotions are part of the corps’ efforts to recognise and reward the commitment and dedication of its personnel.

“All newly promoted personnel should reciprocate the gesture by improving their service delivery and demonstrating greater commitment to road safety and protection of lives,” he said.

Mr Lawal added that promotion comes with significant responsibility, and the corps expected promoted personnel to demonstrate a high level of professionalism.

The sector commander advised the personnel to see their promotions as a call to greater responsibility and commitment to the corps’ mandate. He also urged them not to give in to anger and to manage situations calmly and with ease.
