FRSC to screen vehicles, drivers for election duties in Zamfara

The Zamfara sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it will screen vehicles for election duties to ensure safe and timely delivery of election materials across the state.
The Sector Commander, Iro Danladi, made this known in an interview in Gusau on Monday.
He said that safe and timely delivery of election materials was imperative to the conduct of free, fair and credible elections in the country.
“We will make sure no vehicle with any mechanical problem is engaged to carry either election materials or personnel.
“And all the drivers will be equally tested to prove their competency.
“Additionally more personnel will be deployed across the highways to prevent unnecessary traffic jam that could result to crashes,” the sector commander said.
Mr Danladi added that the corps would provide ambulance services across the state for quick response to any emergency during the forthcoming general election.
He said that personnel of the corps had participated in election security training to expose them to appropriate responses during the polls, in accordance with the law.
