The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Wednesday warned motorists plying the Lagos-Badagry expressway against overloading and speeding during the ember months.

Williams Manga, Badagry unit commander, FRSC, gave the warning at a sensitisation programme organised for table water truck drivers.

Mr Manga attributed major road crashes to speed limit violations and overloading, urging drivers to respect the obligation of human life by obeying traffic rules.

“Do not overload your water trucks with goods and passengers; it is dangerous,” he advised.

Mr Manga appealed to “pure water” truck drivers to undergo the proper process of acquiring genuine driver’s licences to avoid being arrested on the roads.

He urged the drivers to avoid using expired or fairly used tyres on their vehicles because it could lead to road crashes.
