Gov Adeleke urged to repair Osu-Iloba-Ijesa road

Olukunle Egbebunmi, Anglican Communion bishop in Ilesa South-West Diocese, has called on Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun to urgently rehabilitate the only road linking the Iloba-Ijesa community with Osu and Osogbo.
Mr Egbebunmi made the call on Sunday in Iloba.
Iloba-Ijesa is reputed for agricultural produce and a large deposit of gold and currently hosts three federal and two state government projects.
The town is the site of the ongoing construction of the new mega vocational centre of the Nigerian prisons for the South-West, Nigeria Police Educational Institution and barracks. At the same time, the state’s judiciary has its proposed site for the high court and magistrates’ court in the community.
The road, about five kilometres from Osu, the local government headquarters, to Iloba, is deplorable.
There are more than 10 communities along the route, leading to Owode-Ede on one axis and Kajola-Ijesa on the other, linking Osogbo, including Akola, Iwaro, Awo, Baara, Alajue, and Owode-Ede on one side and Odokooto, Eri-peeri, Aba-Eleko, Osin and Oke-bode linking Kajola on the other.
The bishop said rehabilitation of the road would guarantee the progress and development of the community.
According to him, when there is no good road linking a community like Iloba-Ijesa, there will be problems.
He warned community leaders against fomenting trouble over chieftaincy and landed matters, urging them to rather work toward the development of the community.
Mr Egbebunmi also decried the attitude of some fake prophets, who, he said, had been predicting doom about the country, warning them against unguarded utterances.
He assured Nigerians that the May 29 inauguration of President-elect Bola Tinubu had come to stay.
The bishop, however, made a case for women to be accorded their rightful positions in various political offices.
