Gov. Aiyedatiwa appoints chairman for Ondo sports council
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has appointed Oladimeji Abimbola as the chairman of the Ondo State Sports Council.
This is contained in a statement issued on Sunday in Akure by the governor’s spokesperson, Ebenezer Adeniyan.
The appointment came after more than a decade without the appointment of a chairman at the Sports Council.
According to the statement, two other members appointed to the council are Babatunde Boriwa and Ibiloye Abiodun.
It said the appointments were part of efforts to reposition sports development in the state.
“The governor urged the new council members to deploy their wealth of experience toward promoting sports development, grassroots participation and sporting excellence in Ondo State,” the statement said.
