Gov Aliyu signs 2025 budget, promises more development projects

Gov. Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto has assented to the 2025 appropriation bill, promising to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
This is contained in a statement issued to journalists in Abuja on Sunday by the governor’s chief press secretary, Abubakar Bawa.
The statement quoted Mr Aliyu as describing the 2024 budget implementation as a success story.
Mr Aliyu reiterated his administration’s determination to continue to execute people-oriented projects he had started.
”In the outgoing year, we succeeded in executing many developmental projects that had impacted positively on the lives of our people.
“We would in sha Allah sustain this invaluable gesture by delivering more dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of our people,” he vowed.
The governor further reaffirmed his administration’s support for the fight against banditry and other forms of criminality in the state.
He thanked the state lawmakers for the speedy passage of bills.
This, he said, had demonstrated their commitment towards making the lives of their people better.
He further thanked the people of the state for their prayers and continued support of his administration.
The statement also quoted the Speaker, Sokoto State House of Assembly, Tukur Bodinga, as saying the lawmakers had subjected the appropriation bill to thorough scrutiny.
He said that such an approach is in line with the yearnings and aspirations of the electorate.
Mr Bodinga commended the governor for the dividends of democracy he had so far delivered across the state.
He assured Mr Aliyu of the lawmakers’ support for his policies and programmes aimed at transforming the state.
