Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the appointment of Abayomi Fagbenro as his new special adviser on security.

A statement issued on Monday in Ibadan by the governor’s special adviser on media, Suleimon Olanrewaju, said conversely that Saheed Arowosaye was appointed as the Board Chairman of the Pacesetter Mineral Development Company.

The appointments, he said, were contained in separate letters signed by the chief of staff to the governor, Segun Ogunwuyi.

Mr Fagbenro worked at the Department of Defense, Army Network Enterprise Centre, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, United States of America, from October 2007 to August 2012, and received military training at Great Lakes, Illinois, Chicago.

He also attended East Coast Polytechnic Institute (ECPI) as well as Strayer University, where he bagged a B.Sc. in Information Systems.

He replaces Fatal Owoseni, who resigned from Mr Makinde’s government on May 7 to pursue his governorship ambition.

Also, Mr Arowosaye attended the University of Abuja, where he bagged a B.Sc. in Political Science.

He later served as both the caretaker committee chairman and executive chairman of Oyo East Local Government.

Congratulating the two appointees, Mr Makinde counseled each one to see his appointment, which is with immediate effect, as a call to service.
