Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun has approved the release of N927 million for the payment of pensions of retirees in the State.

This is contained in a statement by the State’s Head of Service, Festus Oyebade, on Wednesday in Osogbo.

Mr Oyebade said out of the money, N877million would be used to settle bonds of retired primary school teachers, local government workers and retired civil servants, who are under the Contributory Pension Scheme.

He said the remaining N50 million was approved for payment of retirees under the old pension scheme.

Mr Oyebade said the names of the retired workers selected on merit had been pasted on the notice boards of the Local Government Pensions Bureau, Civil Service Pensions Bureau, Ministry of Information and the Office of the Head of Service.
