Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has called on Muslims to pray fervently for the healing of Nigeria during Ramadan.

“I am admonishing our Muslims faithfuls to pray fervently in this Holy month of Ramadan for healing of our land and safety of our people,” he said.

Mr Sanwo-Olu made the call on Sunday at the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (ADSN) annual Ramadan lecture held at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

Represented by his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, the governor said there was a need for religious tolerance to ensure peaceful coexistence and stability of the nation.

He said that living in harmony brings understanding and is a key factor to promote growth and development in the country.

“There is a need for religious tolerance and humility to ensure peaceful coexistence,” he said.

The governor also commended religious leaders for efforts in ensuring that Nigerians live in peace and harmony despite religious differences.

Mr Sanwo-Olu further urged Nigerians to pray for leaders to always have wisdom and direction to enable them think rightly on better ways to provide and address challenges faced in the country.
