Gov Uzodimma urged to investigate alleged killings in Imo community

The Ndigbo Unity Forum, a socio-cultural organisation, has urged Governor Hope Uzodimma to set up a judicial panel of enquiry to investigate the alleged invasion and killings in Eziobodo and surrounding communities, Owerri West LGA.
The chairman of NUF, Augustine Chukwudum, made the call while speaking with newsmen in Enugu.
The socio-political group demanded that perpetrators of the violence be brought to book.
On Wednesday, gunmen invaded and shot residents in Eziobodo and surrounding communities, which host the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, in Owerri West LGA.
”The attack brought fear to the entire residents of the state. Authorities and communities in Imo must not handle this matter with kid gloves. NUF calls on all communities in South-East to have a robust vigilante group to prevent criminals from operating in the communities,” he said.
The NUF also called on the federal government to wade into the matter.
