Governor Eno approves recruitment of 3,000 civil servants in Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom government has approved the recruitment of 3,000 qualified professionals into its mainstream civil service.
The state commissioner for science and digital economy, Frank Ekpenyong, said in a statement on Monday that the recruitment was a strategic move to strengthen public service delivery and drive youth empowerment across the state.
He said the recruitment exercise, which cuts across various disciplines and cadres, included education, healthcare, engineering, law, agriculture, science, and administration.
The commissioner said the recruitment process would be conducted exclusively through the state’s ARISE Youth Employment Portal — https://employment.akwaibomstate.gov.ng.
He described the initiative as part of the governor’s commitment to transparency and job creation through the ARISE Agenda.
“These appointments span every discipline and cadre, including teachers, nurses, administrators, engineers, scientists, state counsels, technicians, accountants, agriculturalists, and many more,” he said.
Mr Ekpenyong said applicants must complete their profiles on the portal by uploading relevant documents, such as academic certificates, NYSC discharge or exemption certificates, and other required credentials, before applying.
He said the ministry clarified that candidates must apply for only one vacancy aligned with their qualifications and that a valid email address would be the sole communication channel throughout the process.
According to him, shortlisted candidates will be notified through the portal and required to accept their shortlisting online once the application closes.
The commissioner said that those shortlisted would receive a QR-coded interview invitation later.
According to him, some roles may require an aptitude test, for which clear instructions and dates will be provided via the portal.
“Candidates are expected to present their printed invitation slip, original certificates, and writing materials on the day of the test or interview.
“Successful applicants will receive final notifications through the portal and be directed to report to the appropriate departments for documentation and onboarding.
“Once your appointment is confirmed, your status on the ARISE Employment Portal will be updated to ‘Employed,” he said.
Mr Ekpenyong said the listing would be on or before July 31.
“We wish all applicants the very best and thank you for your interest in serving the state,” Mr Ekpenyong said.
