Governor Mutfwang counselled on association with PDP

The Vanguard of the Voice of Reasoning on Tuesday advised Governor Caleb Mutfwang to re-examine his association with the People’s Democratic Party.
The Plateau-based group gave the advice in a statement by its chairman, James Buba, on Tuesday.
Mr Buba said that the governor remaining in the PDP was a threat to his governance agenda, noting that the factionalisation of the party’s board of trustees had made it clear that it was now “rudderless and beyond redemption”.
He said that this would make it a risky venture for the governor to project his second-term aspiration.
His advice followed the appointment of Mao Ohabunwa as the chairman of the PDP BoT by the factional national chairman of the party, Mohammed Abdulrahman.
According to him, as keen stakeholders in the Plateau project, the group has watched with shock the unravelling of the PDP at the national level, with the latest development being the factionalisation of the BoT.
‘’PDP has remained united on the plateau as reflected in the harmony that shadowed the recent congresses. ’But we are afraid that the developments in Abuja could hamper the collective aspiration of the majority of the electorate for the sustenance of the good works by the Caleb Mutfwang administration.
“It is on this basis that we are calling on the governor to seek out options in leading his followers on the Plateau towards nourishing their political aspirations, given what the PDP has become. This call is not only for the governor’s good but also for the good interest of the people of the Plateau,” he said.
Mr Buba further advised the governor and leaders in Plateau to look beyond recent or past wounds with political actors in other parties when approaching a new platform to anchor the political destiny of the people.
“For the sake of this proposal, we dare say that the governor should look beyond past hurts with political rivals and rather seek towards healing of all tendencies for what could be the best interest of the people on the plateau,” he added.
