Group launches mobile app promoting inclusion
To promote the inclusion of children with special needs, a non-governmental organisation, The Autism Awareness Foundation (TAAF), has launched a mobile application, which seeks to connect therapists with parents across Nigeria.
TAAF launched the application, ‘TheraConnect,’ at the Third Autism Conference, with the support of Project Enable Africa, on April 4, 2020.
TheraConnect is a mobile-friendly application allowing parents to get help for their autistic children from qualified therapists and book sessions.
The Director of Across All Initiative, Seun Dosunmu said, “TheraConnect is a timely initiative that will not only create a platform for parents who have autistic kids. It will also be creating an enabling environment where they can easily access support and get therapy.”
Similarly, Adetokunbo Agboola, a Director of Special Education, Plumcare Educational Services, stated, “We are happy about this, and hopeful parents use their platform as an opportunity for their children.”
TAAF Executive Director, Omotoke Olugbode, added that the application would help parents access affordable and effective therapy.
