A political group, the National Agenda For Tinubu 2027 (NAFT.27), has appealed to President Bola Tinubu, to immortalise the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

The group urged Mr Tinubu to name any of Nigeria’s critical national assets after the late two-time head of state.

This was contained in a statement by the National Convener of NAFT.27, Dr Aliyu Ibrahim, in Abuja on Tuesday.

Mr Ibrahim said that immortalising the name of the late former president would etch him on the path of history.

“By initiating this presidential proclamation, Tinubu will be immortalising the memory of the late president and also allowing posterity to remember this great leader. Even after retirement from the military, Buhari showed resilience through a dogged spirit to offer himself for national service through civilian processes to become a civilian president. Naming any of the critical national facilities after Buhari will help keep his memory fresh,” Mr Ibrahim said.

He said that history would remember the late president as an urbane man, who struggled, failed, struggled and failed to win presidential polls but finally won it through the help of Mr Tinubu in 2015.

Mr Ibrahim also commended the Federal Government for honouring the late president by the declaration of Tuesday as public holiday.
