Hisbah raids Kebbi hotel, arrests three adults over alleged immoral acts

Operatives of the Kebbi Hisbah Board, an agency under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, have arrested two women and one man in a hotel for allegedly engaging in immoral acts.
Director of Shariah for the board, Mr Surajo Kamba, confirmed the arrest in a statement in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.
The Hisbah Board recently launched a manhunt for adults involved in alleged immoral acts at various hotels across the state as part of efforts to sanitise society.
Mr Kamba said that within one week, about 12 adults were detained by operatives in the state capital for allegedly engaging in similar acts.
On the latest arrest, he disclosed that two women and a man were caught after intelligence reports indicated that the hotel was being used as a hideout for immoral activities.
He said the hotel had become a major concern for residents due to reports of prostitution allegedly taking place there.
“The Hisbah Board will continue to closely monitor all activities at the hotel until meaningful changes are observed. Yesterday, during another operation, three individuals were arrested at the same hotel, name withheld, over allegations related to immoral acts,” the director said.
Mr Kamba urged hotel owners and managers in the state to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations governing the hospitality sector to prevent acts of immorality.
