‘Hit and run’ vehicle kills man on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway

A “Hit and Run” vehicle on Friday, killed a middle-aged man (name unknown) near Owode-Ijako bus-stop, on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
Temitope Oseni, the Owode-Ijako Unit Commander, Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), confirmed the incident on Friday in Ota, Ogun.
Mrs Oseni explained that the incident which occurred around Owode slope before the bus-stop, inbound Lagos-Abeakuta Expressway, happened in the early hours of Friday.
“The unknown man was knocked down by suspected hit and run vehicle due to excessive speeding of the driver.
“The lifeless body of the victim was still at the scene of the incident, but we have contacted the authority in charge for evacuation from the road,” she said.
The unit commander warned motorists against speeding and urged them to always slow down, while approaching where the people are crossing.
She advised the people to exercise patient and be careful while crossing the roads.
